PSHE at FOREST HILLS
TEACHING PSHE IN SCHOOL
PSHE Education is an embedded part of our broad and balanced curriculum. In doing so, we work with the school community – children, parents, staff and governors.
Our curriculum offer is developed with our school community at it’s heart. Our intent is to be supportive of our children so that they become healthy and responsible members of society, as well as preparing them for life and work in modern Britain.
We ensure that we are delivering an ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum that caters for the children’s moral, social and cultural development at Forest Hills.
As well as keeping ourselves safe, in PSHE we learn about how we can make an impact in the wider world. We talk about issues around the globe and how we can contribute in any way we can.
WHY IS PSHE IMPORTANT TO OUR CHILDREN?
Jenson - Year 2
“PSHE helps me to share and play nicely with my friends.”
Meadow - Year 4
“In PSHE we talk about how we feel and how our friends might feel. We also learn about how to keep safe.”
Freya - Year 6
“PSHE helps everyone to talk about how they feel and to understand each other. PSHE has helped me to understand how to keep safe.”
EYFS
In Early Years, PSHE is one of the prime areas of the statutory framework and it is crucial to us for our children to live happy and healthy lives. We support the children to develop effective relationships with their peers and adults, feel safe and secure in their environment, learn how to lead a healthy life and manage their independence as part of our daily routines.
